This is who we are:

But seriously, click on each person's name for a short description.

Members of ALPOC

Matt W.~

Founding member of ALPOC (the one to credit/blame for starting 11 pages of notes posted to one thread in the Probetalk Lounge), Engineering graduate of Auburn University, and the cool head of the bunch. Matt has a beautiful '95 GT. Here are some pictures of his car. Matt took some great photographs at our third meet. Check them out on our Alpoc Meets page.

Barry~

He's a founding member of ALPOC, the ALPOC web site designer, our Tuscaloosa representative, and the person to most likely continue to fiddle with his '93 GT long after it should have been considered finished. He's also the person most likely to overtighten bolts until they break.

Felipe~

He's a founding member of ALPOC, graduate of Auburn University, and a renaissance man. He can powder coat your wheels or swap out your springs all the while keeping you laughing. Felipe is about to graduate from Auburn University with a degree in the marketing field and is doing freelance auto repair work on the side. He has been a part of the Probe community for several years and has been to most of the major Probe meets in or near the Southeast. Felipe has a '95 GT. Here are some pictures

Don~

Don has a Bimini Blue 2nd gen. GT. Don goes by the name HDP on the Probetalk and Alpoc bulletin boards, is a respected member of APOC, the Atlanta Probe Owners Club and makes his own short throw shifter.

James~

He's a founding member of the club and one of our Mobile representative. He's handy with a distributor and driver of a black Probe SE which will be turbocharged someday. In the meantime it already sports an MSD ignition box, CAI, Japanese cams, and plenty of other stuff. It already looks like a GT, runs like a GT and with the turbo will probably be faster than a GT.

Dan~

He's a founding member of ALPOC and a tall man with a white '90 GT. Originally an automatic transmission equipped car Dan swapped it out by himself using a transmission from a donor car bought from Joe S. You can see pictures of the donor car on the Alpoc Meets 2 page in the Alpoc 6 section.

Joe S.~

Joe is another Huntsville representative, having been a part of the Probe community for a number of years. He can rebuild your car from the ground up. In fact he does it all the time, buying insurance company write-offs and making them road worthy again. Joe's regular job is as an IT professional, but his and his father's garage and backyard make any backyard mechanic jealous. Joe has a really nice white GT, originally gray, with only 22,000+ miles on the odometer.

Brian B.~

Mr. B is actually in Jackson, Mississippi but we couldn't leave him adrift there with no other Probe club close by. Like Felipe and Joe, he's been a part of the Probe community for several years. He's also very knowledgeable about the Probe. His web site is very extensive. Brian is very involved in Autocross and quite good at it.

William~

William has been around the Probe scene since before Probetalk or the ALPOC Message Board on the various email lists. He bought his 1993 PGT 5 speed new (ordered it actually) in May 1993. The original Gatorback tires lasted only 12,000 miles. He joined the old email lists in late 94 or early 95. He started modifying the Probe in Dec 94 with Hennessey parts, then with nitrous (one of the first in the nation, if not the first: He adapted a Mustang kit), then a Centreforce Dual Friction clutch. Then he prepped the car for a turbo kit (never finished) in 99. In the meantime he tuned the suspension rally-style and got some big meaty tires for tackling the rough roads around where he currently lives. But, sadly, in March 2001 the PGT's engine died of ring failure. It's back on the road now with a vengence. He was at the the first Probe meet in Birmingham, Alabama with FelipeT, Dan Dunhem, and another Probe owner. Recently added to the toybox is a 1994 Toyota Supra Turbo 6-speed. It's black inside and out and almost stock. Well, almost :)

Bryan K.~

Bryan, a true yank who married a southern bell, owns a '93 mx6 LS 2.5L, black with 18" ICW Sokudos, 3" exhaust sytem, Home Depot ram air CAI, NOS, slipping clutch, upgraded Fuel delivery system (pump and regulator), UDP, homemade indiglo gauges.... just to name some things. He owns the Vibez Car Audio & Performance business and will have a website at www.vibezaudio.com as soon as Scott helps him with it. He can get nearly anything including oem parts at dealer's cost. He is currently working in a research lab playing with DNA and protein-based polymers that will be used in medical applications, hence the Probetalk and Alpoc bulletin board username gene/=/splicer ( /=/ looks kinda like DNA spiral, a little?). His wife Wendy is getting her Phd in english lit in t town UA. If you don't find him playing on a car, then you can find him on-line playing TFC or Tribes 2. Any day now they're expecting their first child! (as this is written, February 2003)

Brent~

Brent is one of our Birmingham representatives who lives in the same area as Matt's family. He's one of the mysterious members of the group. We see him on the Probetalk bulletin board every now and then but not one of us has met the man.

Aaron~

Aaron has joined our group from the Huntsville area (written as of summer 2001). He's a computer engineer by degree and trade and used to have his own company. He's worked for Boeing Flight Test and on the Space Station. His last car was a Porsche but we forgive him (mostly because we all want one). You can read all about Aaron at his site and see pictures of his Probe GT here.

Adrian~

Adrian is Don's cousin and also lives in the Huntsville area. He has a nice early 2nd generation light green metallic Probe GT. ****EDIT**** Current word has it that Adrian is selling the Probe and getting a 6. At least he's keeping it in the family!

Charles~

Charles lives in the Center Point area near Birmingham. He drives a light blue metallic 2nd generation Probe GT. Charles created and manages the ALPOC bulletin board. He has at least one child. I have a picture somewhere proving it :) Being a father doesn't automatically make you crazy but it doesn't hurt. The Phoenix shall rise again!

Stacy~

Stacy lives in Empire, Alabama with her husband Brandon and her red'94 2.0 MX-6.

Matt~

Matt is from Arab, Alabama. He's the proud owner of a white '94 Probe GT w/a Borla cat-back exhaust system, FX Designs wing, and (coming soon) a custom CAI from an APOC member. Currently Matt attends the University of Alabama.

Jason~

Jason is from Samantha and drives an red '89 GL converted from the wires to the motor into a GT. Jason works at a parts store so shoot him an email when you have a need for parts

Brad~

Brad is a high school senior (as this is written, September 2001) in Skipperville, Alabama with a Rio Red '95 Probe GT with a few parts of the motor and interior painted white. It also has the tan leather seats and white faced gauges.

Jimmy~

Jimmy is our second member from Mobile. He has a black '96 Probe GT with chrome "swirlies".

Marie~

Marie is one of two from Troy State. Josh is the other and it so happens they're engaged to be married! (as of September, 2001). Marie owns a white 1994 Probe GT. While she hasn't done any modifications yet she'll be doing some in the future as time and money allow. ****EDIT**** Unfortunately the lastest word (February 2003) is that Marie is selling the GT!

Joshua~

Josh is a student at Troy State with Marie. Having met in high school they plan to tie the knot after college graduation. Josh drives a '96 Probe SE with a cat-back exhaust, CAI, and a J-spec cam.

Tim~

Tim is in Huntsville, Alabama.

Rachel~

Rachel is in Montgomery, Alabama tending animals at the zoo and driving an MX-6.

George~

George is in Phenix City, Alabama driving an MX-6 with a Shogun kit.

Derek~

Derek is somewhere in Tallapoosa county, Alabama.

Blake~

Blake is in Birmingham, Alabama with his '93 MX-6 LS.

Josiah~

Josiah's in New Hope, Alabama.

Gary~

Gary's in Daphne, Alabama.

Dima~

Dima is currently living in Tuscaloosa and drives a '94 Probe SE.

Israel~

Israel has two Probes; a '90 GT and a '95 SE. He's currently living in Mobile and Tuscaloosa.

Joe D.~

Joe has an early 2nd gen base model. He only gets to drive it every other two weeks since he has to be out on an offshore oil rig half of each month.

Jason (from Mobile)~

Jason has a lowered '95 base Probe with a GT front bumper (the lucky result of a wreck) and a cold air intake.

Monte~

Tim~

Leon~

Leon is from Mobile and drives a white '93 MX-6 LS with a custom cold air intake, Bosch platinum plugs, NGK wires, Aerospeed gen. 2 muffler, white gauges, blue dash panel, custom aluminum floor mats, pioneer cd player, all red tail lamps and is working on a blue/tan interior. His future plans include either dropping a KL-ZE into it or trading it for a Probe GT with fewer miles on the odometer.

Friends of ALPOC

These are people associated, in one way or another, with ALPOC.

Tony~

Tony is from Huntsville, Alabama and is currently attending the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. The bad news is that the 6 he drove has recently been totalled.

Natalie~

Natalie lives and attends school in Auburn, Alabama but she calls Texas "home" for the holidays. She has a dark red '93 MX-6. ****EDIT**** Natalie has moved home to Dallas, Texas. A few months after moving the maroon 6 got totalled. She had to buy something so a Honda provides her daily transportation.

Patrick~

Patrick is a software engineer in Tuscaloosa with a white '94 Probe SE automatic.

Joey~

Joey runs his own business buying and selling cars. His white 2nd generation MX-6 has one of Don's short throw shifters controlling the gears, strobe lights up front, and a host of other modifications. ****EDIT**** Joey sold the 6 (business, y'know) and we don't hear from him much anymore.

Mo~

Mo is in the Huntsville area and drives a nice dark red '93 MX-6 with a Flowmaster muffler, a K&N air filter, the fog lamp mod and polished head lamps. ****EDIT**** Mo's 6 has been sold and he now concentrates on off-road vehicles.

Aubrey~

Aubrey drives the '90 GL (that was Barry's first new car) to work as the Art Director at the Promotional Group. She's also a student at Shelton State College in Commercial Art. She is sister to Amber and a fine aunt to Vincent. Her car has the LX 15" wheels, seats, and interior panels, the GT am/fm/cassette/CD stereo (with aftermarket speakers, of course), the GT console, cruise control, rear wiper, power door locks, dual lit sun visors, LX overhead map lights, and LX trunk panels all added from parts cars in salvage yards by Barry. To top off the engine she has Magnecore plug wires. It's been repainted the original Ultra Blue clearcoat metallic so it still turns heads.

Marv~

Marvin has a '93 Laser Red GT with the automatic transmission. He's done the foglight mod and has Bosch platinum plugs and Bosch plug wires. We've yet to get Marvin to one of our meets but hopefully that'll change soon. ****EDIT**** Marvin sold the Probe to a nephew late in 2002.

Nathan~

Nate drove a Seafoam Green base Probe with a Supra style wing around Clay, Alabama near Birmingham. His Probe had custom tail lamps and a custom painted console. He was going to add a Home Depot style cold air intake, a Greddy exhaust, neon lights everywhere, and custom Enkei wheels. Then a bread truck came along and knocked him off the road. Nathan's alright but the p.o. base is totalled. He was forced to buy a Honda for daily transportation.

Dave~

Dave lives in Scottsboro, Alabama and drove a nice green Probe SE that he turbocharged. Sometimes it's handy to have worked in a salvage yard. He moved to Alabama in the summer of 2001 from Arizona where he was a member of AZPOC. At least he is still in the Ford family with a nice Thunderbird now.

Greg~

He's from Birmingham and his Probe was a 95 GT, in metallic blue paint. From these mods - 17" MAS Presidents w/ 215/45/17 Nitto NT450's, K&N Filtercharger System, Custom Catback Exhaust, ACT Stage II, MSD 6AL, Denso Iridium Plugs, B&M STS, Stillen FPR. - you can tell he was pretty serious about making his Probe the best it could be. He sold it but now has a very nice Nissan 240 SX.

Katy~

A friend of ALPOC who is seeking out a Probe to own and a motivator of our becoming organized. Beware of her wicked sense of humor.

Amber~

Amber owns her own company and does the design and printing work for our club's tee shirts. She and Barry try to keep little Vincent from running amuck all the time. Check out AmberWolf Graphics for your graphics needs. She loves four door cars so Barry is trying to convince her that a 626 V6 would be a better car than the Neon. It's too bad the old diesel 1970 Mercedes bit the dust.

Scott~

Scott, aka "Scothew" , resides in what is left of Oak Grove, Alabama. Currently driving a white '00 Mustang GT automatic. Mods so far include blue indiglo guages; lots of stereo equipment; 2 blue 6" neon lights ; a K&N air filter; and custom burned Diablo Motorsports performance computer chip. He is working as one of 3 senior techs at a cable internet provider in Birmingham, he spends his time between 4pm and 1am being bored in front of a computer waiting for things to break, and posting like crazy on ALPOC as well as stangnet.com . Off days ( sometimes rare ) are usually spent working on cars at Bryans shop and going racing either at Steele or the not-so-legal street races in B'ham. He has also somehow been deemed the so-called Computer Guru of ALPOC. Almost to the point of becoming a major part of Vibez Car Audio and Performance (<-- shameless plug ), he is currently working on a website where customers can research and order merchandise from Vibez online or via phone or in person. Also can be found playing TFC and Counter-stirke online quite a bit after work.
